Who we are

Kid Friendly London (kidfriendlylondon.co.uk) is a free directory of kid-friendly places to eat across London. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and who we share it with. Questions? Email natalie@kidfriendlylondon.co.uk.

What we collect and why

Site analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used — pages visited, rough device type, and approximate (city-level) location. This uses cookies and a shortened IP address. We look at it in aggregate; we don't use it to identify you personally.

Campaign click measurement

If you run a venue we've contacted about a featured listing and you click a link in one of those emails, the page you land on sends a small signal to our own campaign tracker recording which area and which email in the sequence the click came from. It does not send your name, email address, or any personal detail — only the campaign's own labels (for example, "clerkenwell", "email 2"). We store a short-lived entry in your browser (not a cookie) so that refreshing the same page isn't counted twice. This only happens when you arrive from one of our campaign links; it does not run for ordinary visitors browsing the site.

Email sign-ups

If you request our free Screen-Free Restaurant Packs, we collect your email address (handled by our email provider, MailerLite) to send you the packs and the occasional update. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

Restaurant suggestions

If you suggest a restaurant through our form, we receive what you choose to enter there so we can review the venue.

Cookies and browser storage

We use a small amount of storage in your browser:

• Google Analytics cookies — for the site analytics described above.
• Functional storage we set ourselves — for example remembering a postcode you've searched for the "find nearby" feature, and de-duplicating campaign click measurement. These stay in your browser and aren't shared.

Who we share data with

We rely on a few third parties, each with its own privacy terms:

• Google — Google Analytics, and Google Apps Script, which receives the campaign click signal above.
• MailerLite — sends our email sign-ups.
• Mapbox — powers the maps on the site.
• postcodes.io — converts a postcode you enter into a location for "find nearby".

We don't sell your personal data.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links may be affiliate links, which means we might earn a small commission if you book or buy — at no extra cost to you.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email natalie@kidfriendlylondon.co.uk and we'll help.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
