Old Oak Café & Restaurant sits just off the Grand Union Canal towpath near Harlesden, a proper local spot where regulars greet Abdullah and his team by name. The menu spans generous English breakfasts (£3.50 for egg, bacon, sausage and chips) through to shawarma wraps and mixed grills with vermicelli rice, all at prices that keep families coming back. Kids can order smaller portions or build their own plates from the wide selection, and there's plenty of space inside — seating for around 30, plus outdoor tables that catch the canal view. "Wonderful place in the middle of nowhere... we really enjoyed the canal view as well," notes one parent. Highchairs available, buggy ramp at the entrance. Reviewers consistently praise the homemade chips and chicken wings, and the halloumi breakfast is noted as a weekend favourite. Best for cyclists and walkers breaking a towpath ride, or local families after something hearty without the service charge.
